A pair of lady slippers growing near the beaver bog last year during the few weeks in mid-May when these delicate and somewhat rare orchid family plants bloom.

The beaver bog is slowly approaching spring-time; there is no frozen water anymore and the snow is melting slowly. The opportunity for flooding along the outlet stream has greatly receded.
