Golden year end
A female red-breasted merganser duck along the Connecticut shoreline in early 2015.
It has been a year since I spotted this small flotilla of merganser ducks cruising slowly along the Connecticut coast. I like their haircuts.
Near the advent of Winter 2015-2016 our backwoods are brown, not white; the cold air comes and goes and it only rains when it is warm.
A downy woodpecker visits a tree in the nearby bog.

In the forest primeval, under the gathering gloom, are monuments to unknown dieties and undefined events.
