The nuthatch usually is found poking around for insects on tree trunks, usually upside down. They will frequent bird feeders in winter, for obvious reasons, but this one we found at the feeder in June. A lazy boy.

This female northern cardinal not only hung around the bird feeder every day, she was a common sight in the yard during our visit to northern Maryland
This one was found in Maryland last month but they are a common north American species.
House. On the Chesapeake Bay marking the Patapsco River and the entrance to Baltimore harbor. It was curious to me that there were no birds hanging around the structure. At the top, by the right side railing, one can see inanimate figure of a bird on a post.

An osprey stands on one of the few posts in the Bodkin creek estuary that has no nest.
While we were leaving the harbor for our fishing trip, this Caspian tern (we think) managed to grab a small fish as we went by.
