A night-heron (my guess) departs a small Connecticut saltwater marsh late last month

From a Connecticut sea-side marsh.

The early morning light catches the mother osprey squawking and carrying a big stick over my head last week.

The mother osprey returns with a branch after her initial passes over my head (see my earlier post) . Before putting the branch into her nest as shown here, she flew over me several times. I wasn’t sure if she was going to drop it on me or whack me with it.

As I approached an osprey nest with a mom and two chicks, she leaped out of the nest and came rushing toward me to check me out.
