An osprey stands on one of the few posts in the Bodkin creek estuary that has no nest.
While we were leaving the harbor for our fishing trip, this Caspian tern (we think) managed to grab a small fish as we went by.
Another example of the community of osprey nests lining the Bodkin creek inlet along the west side of Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay.
After spending an afternoon trying to get a decent image of the barn swallows sprinting around the barn and field, I settled on this one perching on the garden fence.
This juvenile fox was one of two checking out the side yard near the barn in the middle of the day.
A turkey vulture cruised slowly over the unplanted Maryland field near our friend’s house. An unusual defective feather allowed us to identify the bird on it’s several visits that day.
