Continuing along the Gardiner (ME) waterfront along the Kennebec river several weeks ago.
During a short visit to the Gardiner (Maine) waterfront a week or so ago, we encountered surveillance.
At another corner of the Island, along School House road, the herons can sometimes be found searching for a snack.
During this recent summer visit to the Fishers Island sound area, there were egrets almost everywhere one goes. Are they close enough for a great image or are they poking around beautiful natural settings? Near Allyn’s Alley, this one may have been looking for food, I guess.
During our last visit to southeast Connecticut this summer, there was plenty of other bird sightings to evaluate and ponder. Here, at the Poggy Bay marsh, the almost regular visit of an egret or heron was caught.
During a brief walk along Pleasant Pond in early September, I got surprised by a quick flyover from this heron.

The usual group of geese and ducks on the Ice Pond last week. This end of the pond was not filled with algae at this time (see previous posts).
