It has been a year since I spotted this small flotilla of merganser ducks cruising slowly along the Connecticut coast. I like their haircuts.

On the day after the last day of the 2015 hunting season (for regular rifles – bows and arrows or muzzle-loaders are still allowed for a couple weeks), we found a doe hanging around in a small back wood.
