You would think with all these subjects, at least one would be in focus.

As we approached the great marsh, we heard the rushed, “Cheep-cheep-cheep…,” of an excited osprey. We saw it fly away to the other side of the marsh. Then, many minutes later, we caught this one checking us out.

My brother has two feeders and birds were visiting all weekend long. The feeders are also popular with bumble bees.


From a Connecticut sea-side marsh.

The early morning light catches the mother osprey squawking and carrying a big stick over my head last week.

The mother osprey returns with a branch after her initial passes over my head (see my earlier post) . Before putting the branch into her nest as shown here, she flew over me several times. I wasn’t sure if she was going to drop it on me or whack me with it.
