Sparrow at the house

As I visited the Poggy Bay marsh in late summer, I spotted a heron hanging around the boat dock. Typically, as I slowly approached as carefully as possible, it detected my presence and did not opt for the photo opportunity.
The gull I was following finally caught something, as seen above. I am not sure what it is!? I did not think gulls ate fish (the ones I know go for the french fries left unattended on the other side of the picnic table).

Another look at the egret hanging around the Great Marsh
A couple days ago while walking along the west side of the Great Marsh on Mason Island, we found an egret poking around. Eventually the bird grabbed a snack from the marsh channel he was wading in.
We attempted to photo the herons in the trees by the Ice pond. But, they flew away as I got closer.
