Snow geometries in the wild

We have had about forty inches of snow over nine days in February. Seeing snow on everything with a blue sky background is one of the best parts of the winter season.

This sparrow was patiently waiting for an chance to get a snack at a nearby bird feeder.

Ducks head upstream in flight over the Mill river on the Maine coast last weekend. They spent the previous hour wandering in the mud at low tide (you can see some of their tracks in the lower right corner of the image).
