A full nest of young ospreys awaits the return of their mom to their nest on a channel hazard marker on the Bodkin creek, an inlet on Maryland’s Chesapeake Bay.

From below the Chesapeake Bay bridge at about mid-channel, a colony of mostly herring gulls has a thriving neighborhood.

On a small island underneath the Chesapeake Bay bridge, a large contingent of herring gulls spend their summer day sitting, standing, and flying around.
