A December day at the ice pond
A small gang of black ducks (most likely) were quietly encamped in the middle of the (so-called) great or grand marsh on a Sunday in December.
At a turn in the road, we spotted this hawk hanging about. It was overcast and this limited my modest abilities at identification, but I knew it was a hawk! Looks like a red-shouldered hawk that has seen better days.
