Ice pond meeting place

The entrance to the Mt. Vernon cemetery in Augusta, Maine has a colorful marker this week.

A swamp sparrow (most likely) ventures along the edge of the far bog during our Saturday mid-afternoon patrol.

Early October on the bog is turning the leaves.

This gull was spotted over a central Maine pond last week; probably a herring gull but has dark eyes and a black beak marker. Does not match anything in my guide books.

You would think with all these subjects, at least one would be in focus.
