Low tide on the Kennebec

image D81_8132_zLooking south (downstream) on the Kennebec river at Augusta, Maine. It is low tide on a quiet early December mid-morning. Augusta is thirty miles from the Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Maine and is the farthest point north where tidal effects are noticeable.
