  1. Duh! I almost missed this guy (almost sure it’s a male) . There are 20 similar looking “mosaic darner” species in this family but this one is probably a Canada Darner. But a black stripe across his face would make him a Lake Darner. Both are close to three inches, perch like this dude tail down, and are likely to be seen in northern latitudes in fall and late summer.
