While we were waiting around for some good camera angles of herons on the Poggy Bay marsh, an energetic belted kingfisher posed for a profile.

After searching in the Poggy Bay marsh for some breakfast, this egret was successful.

An egret slowly walked along a channel on the Poggy Bay marsh on Thursday. It was near high tide during tropical storm Jose’s presence off shore. Check in later to see if his hunt was rewarded.

A black crowned night heron, maybe, stands alone at the north end of the ice pond. The size, posture, and lack of concern about our presence suggest a night heron. The coloring does not match any of our references.
A cormorant with a freshly caught fish is watched intently by a seagull.
