
An egret slowly walked along a channel on the Poggy Bay marsh on Thursday. It was near high tide during tropical storm Jose’s presence off shore. Check in later to see if his hunt was rewarded.

Night heron by day

A black crowned night heron, maybe, stands alone at the north end of the ice pond. The size, posture, and lack of concern about our presence suggest a night heron. The coloring does not match any of our references.
