Early October on the bog is turning the leaves.

This gull was spotted over a central Maine pond last week; probably a herring gull but has dark eyes and a black beak marker. Does not match anything in my guide books.

Walking along the far bog awhile ago I found a different visitor than I am used to seeing. With some research, I now know I have my first image of a cedar waxwing.

Another look at my bog walk escort last weekend.
